The Pretoria Bridge Centre in 26th Street, Menlo Park is surely the home of Bridge in Pretoria. Visited by over 1500 players a month, the Bridge Centre , which is owned and administered by the North Gauteng Bridge Union (NGBU), is home to some 12 bridge clubs which cater for players of all levels and skill. Bridge classes are also provided by some of the clubs.
The centre is easily accessible, with adequate parking facilities. (See map)
Playing fees vary from club to club, but for club events are usually between R15 and R25 per session which usually includes a mid-session cup of tea or coffee.
Besides the usual weekly club events, the NGBU itself arranges several regional events in the form of Open Pairs or Open Teams events during the year. These events are typically all-day events and usually qualify for RED masterpoints. Other events, such as the World Bridge Federation Simultaneous Pairs are also hosted at the centre.
